It only took 1.5 hours to set up with my 9 year old. it looks great, but yes it is definitely a bit darker than the photo. However, it blends well with the other light to medium oak in the house.

This item was shipped and received with very good timing. It arrived in very good condition and was packed exceptionally well. So well, in fact, that there is much material to dispose of. The assembly was straight forward and the instructions are very clear. All the pieces fit well and when finished it looked like a fine piece of furniture, not a do it yourself assembly. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one for another room in the house.
