It's a little tough to get used to, but works like it's supposed to. Once you get used to convection vs. conventional cooking and used to the settings on the digital controls, you're good to go. so, all in all, i would say it's a very good oven and you wont be disappointed, especially if you're not limited by ADD like us, you'd be inclined to read the directions and figure it all out sooner rather than later, LOL!

My employer purchased this toaster oven for our break room. I liked it so much I bought it for my home. I haven't owned a toaster oven in years but was impressed at the functionality of this one. It not only toasts bread & bagels to perfection, but is specially design to accommodate a small pizza or other round item because of the half moon cutout in the back. There is a nice tray you can slip on the bottom for easy cleanup of crumbs. It bakes up to 450 degrees. There are several sets of racks and trays and a broil pan. This is so worth the money!

My mother raves about Delonghis. I do not understand why. When I left my last apartment, I left my Delonghi (older model) out on the sidewalk for someone else to take home. (For those of you unfamiliar with this behavior, it's the underground economy in Seattle, everybody does it).
I have used and owned many toaster ovens in my life, including in foreign countries where I can't always read the button labels or the instruction manuals. This appliance is worse than all of them when it comes to being intuitive or user-friendly. This model is even worse than the old one I gave away. It is awful. Really awful. I am currently baking an apple cake in it, and the experience of programming it was so frustrating (again) that I said this is it! Today's the day I write a review and warn others.
Here It is:
See all those buttons in the photo? Yes, each one of them beeps (shrill!) individually. To set it for bake you have to go beep beep beep. Then set the temperature, from a default of 350 degrees. ... Let's just say it's rigidly programmed to not do what you want, but force you to choose from a limited number of options. And it beeps every time. 350 beep! 375 beep! .....you know the rest.
Timer... every minute up or down sets off the ...beep! six, seven, eight..... twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty minutes... equals thirty beeps. Sound fun? And you are not done until you set the Start/stop, beep!!
It took more than ten finger pushes to get it set to (approximately) what I really wanted. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes. (I set it for ten minutes twice, yes, two sets of ten beeps) Who designed this thing?
The cake in the oven: It's puff pastry, so I had to watch it... and I can confirm that for sure, this toaster oven does n-o-t bake or brown evenly.
This gadget is a nightmare. Unless perchance you consider a (required) series of shrill beeps music.
There's more. It's not just the beep. Anything sitting on top of the oven gets quite hot, and plastic clam shells melt. Fruit gets brown spots, etc.
The temperature inside does not go high enough or low enough. I have to go back to the older toaster oven on the counter to work at 450 and above. Ditto for lower at 'keep warm'.
Does it do toast well? I don't know. I use a much simpler gadget for that.
So buyer beware.
On the off chance that toaster oven engineers are reading these reviews to see what people really want in an appliance...
1. Silence would be nice. It's ludicrous to have it beep when I set it to toast BEEP! or Bake BEEP! For what? By all means make a model for the hearing impaired - nothing wrong with that idea, but don't make the rest of us deaf by decibels.. on a toaster. It's shrill in octave, way too loud, and a very ugly sound to boot.
2. This toaster is anything but user friendly. I don't want digital if it takes me ten strokes to set the most basic functions. I want a simple mechanical on/off and a dial for my temperature settings.
3. Insulate the gadget properly. The top of the oven is not insulated and that is a clue that it's cheaply made. Same issue with my old one. Seems to be a pattern.
4. what's with the start/stop and the timer/toast color, temp/select/clock back slash approach? Control the time and the toast color with the same button, that makes sense because......?
Until substantial intelligence is applied to rethinking what toaster ovens are about.... I'm done with Delonghi.
